Corporate Sponsorship
of the SIGCAT Foundation
Sign Up Form

By becoming a Corporate Sponsor, your organization will be helping to support the largest CD-ROM user's group in the world. The SIGCAT Foundation has undertaken a number of programs which we think encourage the use of CD-ROM technology and the ultimage growth of the industry. Fulfilling an educational and informational role is central to our mission as a not-for-profit foundation. At present we provide members of The SIGCAT Foundation with the bimonthly publications, the DISCourse and the BLER, offer extensive training courses at The SIGCAT Technical Education Center, hold bimonthly meetings that are open to the public, and hold an annual conference. In addition, we are currently in the process of starting the SIGCAT CD-ROM Information Resources Center (CIRC) and the Cooperative Disc Exchange (CDE), a program to distribute overrun and other donated discs to information needy organizations around the world.

The benefits of corporate sponsorship are as follows:

  1. Exclusive access to SIGCAT's worldwide mailing list (currently over 8,500 members)
  2. Listing in the BLER in the Directory of Corporate Sponsors. A listing that gives name and contact information of every corporate sponsor, grouped into categories according to the type of service or product sold.
  3. Listing (and linking) your company on the World Wide Web
  4. Five free subscriptions to the SIGCAT DISCourse newsletter
  5. A $200 exhibitor fee discount. If you plan to participate in SIGCAT's annual conference, set for May 19-23, 1996, Hyatt Regency Hotel in Reston, Virginia, you will receive $200 off of the standard exhibitor's fee of $1,400. We expect over 1,000 attendees and have room for about 90 exhibitors with 8' x 10' booths. Consider signing up now!
  6. A twenty percent discount on BLER advertising rates
  7. Participation in the SIGCAT Technology Evaluation Program (STEP). The STEP program is similar to CIRC except that your products are made available for placement into organizations (for up to 90 days) that are looking to evaluate and possible purchase the latest in CD-ROM technology.
  8. Participation in the SIGCAT CD-ROM Information Resource Center (CIRC). The CIRC houses hardware, software and discs in a laboratory setting which are open to members of SIGCAT for evaluation, investigation and study of all aspects of the technology.
SIGCAT's worldwide network of people involved in the application and technology of CD-ROM is a resource that you as a Corporate Sponsor can use in many ways. In addition, SIGCAT's close involvement with the public sector can provide you and your organization with valuable insight into one of the largest markets for CD-ROM products and services in the world -- the Federal Government. Please let us hear from you.
